Infrared Sauna Medical Studies and Articles

The evidence is clear. Toxins are every where, in our water, air, food, soaps, shampoos, even in the clothes we wear. It has become commonplace to read about mercury in our fish, jet fuel in our lettuce, heavy metals in our air. Toxins have been directly linked with a host of diseases: cancer, lowered immune function, arthritis, autism, fibromyalgia, alzheimers, neurological and cardiovascular disorders, just to name a few. People living today carry within their bodies a chemical cocktail made up of industrial chemicals, pesticides, food additives, heavy metals, general anaesthetics, and the residues of therapeutic pharmaceuticals, as well as toxins from alcohol, tobacco, caffeine, and illegal drugs. It is a problem that is not going away, at least not in our lifetime. We need to detoxify!

Sherry Rogers MD in her groundbreaking book, Detox or Die, says toxicity is a one-way street leading to disease; the key to healing the impossible is to reverse the toxicity. But what is the best way to detoxify? There are several methods being used today: chelation, where enzyme preparations are injected into the bloodstream, binding toxins as they pass through and are excreted; fasting, with or without herbal and mineral preparations and/or colonics to help to remove toxins; and saunas, removing toxins through sweating.

    Is your Hair Color Toxic?

As of late, the Kasia Organic Hair Team has encountered  increasing numbers of new guests that have sought out our Ammonia Free Hair Color services due to experiencing  previous un-ease, aesthetic discomfort, and allergic reactions of hair dying.

This brings me to shedding some LIGHT on this topic, as it is becoming common, and  in my opinion, many more women are starting to experience this, but it is "underground."

"What to do - where to go - new hairstylist?  what about my....Routine...."

There can be several kinds of reaction caused by hair dye allergy. Most commonly the reaction appears on your face. Listed are the most common allergic reactions that are caused by hair dyes.

*Dermatitis around/on the face.* Facial Swelling

    * Bumps on face  * Headaches    *Rash  * Itchy Scalp  *Burning

    ing.

    Your Investment and Common Ingredients

    * The culprit behind these reactions is a common chemical ingredient that is used in  hair dyes, called para-phenylenediamine, or PPD.

*PPD is actually found in a good quantity which is more than two-thirds of commercial dyes. The case is the same for many of the in-salon brands.

    * Allergic reactions to PPD was such a severe problem that it got banned from hair dyes in France, Germany and Sweden.

    Our Young Women

Market research shows more people are dyeing their hair and at a younger age. One survey in 1992, by a soap and detergent association found 13 per cent of school girls used hair coloring products, along with six percent of womens.

By 2001, the numbers had soared, with two out of five schoolgirls dyeing their hair and almost nine in 10 young women.

"Furthermore female high school students and young women were dyeing their hair at shorter intervals.

Additional Harsh Compounds to AVOID in your Hair Color Investment

Not only do  "other" hair coloring services strip away the natural moisture and oils from the hair and scalp, break down the hair shaft, but they also put your health at risk.

Say NO to Ammonia * A strong irritant for skin, eyes and lungs.   * A suspected carcinogen.

Say NO to Ethanolamine (MEA) * A toxicant for the immune, respiratory, reproductive, neurological & nervous systems. * A carcinogen.

    .....Final Remarks

Though an allergic reaction to hair dye may be relatively rare, death from cancer is less rare. The National Cancer Institute suggests that one out of five of all cases of non-Hodgkin`s lymphoma among women are due to women`s regular use of commercial hair dye products. This is the disease that killed Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, who used the more damaging darker dyes. Breast, bladder and other cancers are also linked to the use of these toxic ingredients.

Whichever type of hair coloring you decide to use, drink lots of water. If the product contained any chemicals, plan to daily (lifestyle detox) after the coloring. That way, you will at least rid your body of some or all of the toxins you just put into your bloodstream. To learn more about efficiently detoxing, learn more about our NEW INFRARED SAUNA.

How Emotional Health, Hormones, and Nutrition - Stresses our Tresses

    Medication

If you're suddenly shedding more and your life or mood hasn't changed drastically, check any new meds you're taking. Progesterone, a hormone found in some forms of birth control, as well as vitamin A derivatives (synthetics such as acne Rx) can shut down follicles and trigger hair loss. Other possible culprits: depression meds and heartburn helpers. Other health issues could be to blame (a thyroid problem).

    Hormones

High levels of estrogen bring fringe benefits: dewy skin and shiny hair. Estrogen works by blocking a by-product of testosterone (dihydrotestosterone) that may promote balding, says Futterweit, M.D., clinical professor of endocrinology at Mount Sinai. That's why hair is thickest in your 20s and 30s, when hormones are percolating. In these years (and during pregnancy), 70 to 90 percent of hair is in a growth phase; by your 40s, the proportion of hair in this cycle decreases by up to 30 percent.

    Stress

Stress-hormone receptors exist in and around hair follicles, which means that besides wreaking havoc on mood, the fight-or-flight neurochemicals adrenaline and cortisol can also harm hair. "Stress can increase shedding, leading to thinning.   Releasing stress and tension usually revives follicles within about four months. To calm your mind and hair, carve out time daily to relax or relax in Kasia’s Infrared Sauna to sweat away toxicity, mind and body. It'll pay off in more ways than one!

    Genetics

Yes, your DNA controls hair thickness, when you'll go gray and, possibly, vulnerability to pollution and stress.  Oxidative damage may cause graying by triggering a buildup of hydrogen peroxide in the follicle, blocking pigment formation

    Nutrition

Pile your plate with foods that contain healthy-hair essentials. Protein is the building block of every strand (it makes up 95 percent of hair's weight); zinc (found in meats and nuts) bolsters natural oils that coat the hair shaft (for extra shine!); vitamin B derivatives (biotin, B6 and B12) promote new cell growth within the follicles. Most important is iron, which facilitates the activity of enzymes needed for hair growth.

    Brittle Hair/Nails

Excess stress hormones and low thyroid hormones can contribute to brittle or thinning hair and nails. Improper absorption or breakdown of proteins in your digestive system means you do not have the raw materials to generate healthy hair and nails, causing lackluster locks. Liver toxicity can also affect hair and nail health, leading to dullness or brittleness.

    Acne

Female hormone imbalances such as abnormal estrogen or progesterone levels can contribute to acne. In the digestive system, food sensitivities are implicated in skin conditions. An overworked liver cannot properly process toxins from poor diet, environmental exposure, or from the digestive tract, and this toxic build up can manifest as acne or skin rashes as toxins are excreted through the skin.

    What is Far Infrared Sauna?

Far Infrared is a form of light that we feel as heat. The sun has infrared (IR) and ultraviolet (UV).

UV rays are the bad   and    IR is the good

Far Infrared penetrates into your body 3 times deeper than steams, dry saunas.

Traditional saunas remove about 3% toxin in your sweat, Infrared allows around 17% toxins to be released in your sweat.

The infrared sauna is completely safe and produces the same rays that you feel from the sun without the harmful ultraviolet rays.

The radiant heat surrounds you as it penetrates deeply into your joints, muscles and tissues, this helps increase circulation and speed oxygen flow. Infrared helps to remove impurities from your cells, specifically the cells inside our fat where the body stores waste and harmful toxins such as heavy metals and cholesterol.

The only way to remove toxins from the fat storage sites is to mobilize the toxic fat. Heat stress (infrared sauna) is an effective method of removing fat-stored toxins from the body.

Infrared sauna also helps you relax and keep your cortisol levels low. When stressed cortisol levels deposit extra calories to the midsection.

    skin
Skin is the largest organ in the body and plays a significant part in the detox process.

    · Clogged pores (unplugged of cosmetics, un-excelled skin texture and tone)

    · Poor skin tone (restored to a more youthful level)

    · Acne (three to four treatments may open pores that have been nonfunctioning for years, forcing out clogging cosmetics, and loosening dry outer skin)

    · Teenage skin problems (clearing acne and blackheads)

    · Body odor (improved functioning of the skin especially body odor, induced by occupational exposure to odorous chemicals)

    · Eczema and Psoriasis (respond well)

    · Dandruff (increased blood flow through the scalp)

    Brief Preview:

    Those Crazy Hormones.

Most weight gain can be traced to the adrenal, or stress, hormones. The adrenal hormone cortisol, best known for its pivotal role in responding to stress, also promotes the burning of body fat, helps regulate emotions, and counters inflammation —

    Adrenal Exhaustion

Poor diets, lack of exercise and sleep, and long work hours leave bodies in a chronic state of stress, leaving your restorative functions impaired.

Yes, your fatigued but here are some  other adrenal rhythm impacts:

    * Skin regeneration, causing wrinkles and premature aging

    * Sleep quality, leading to trouble falling and staying asleep

    * Bone health, which creates osteopenia or bone loss

    * Muscle and joint function, leading to achy arthritis-type joint pain and neck, shoulder, and lower back pain

    * Immune function, leading to frequent illness

    The Digestive System

Referred as the "mother" system because it feeds our body tissues with the nutrients we need to function.

A well functioning digestive system is an crucial first step in any weight loss and wellness, as your body needs to absorb key vitamins, minerals, and fatty acids to properly regulate metabolism and burn fat.

Problems with the digestive system and hormonal system are the most common underlying causes of weight gain.

Intestinal fungal overgrowth, which triggers over consumption of carbohydrates and sweets and digestive tract and food sensitivities play a part in weight gain.

    The Detoxification System

Detoxification pathways remove harmful chemicals generated from normal body functions.

Toxicity also leads to weight loss resistance. Toxins are stored in fat tissue in the body and people who are overweight will hold on to fat tissue tenaciously in an attempt to protect the body from the damage that would be caused by the release of these stored toxins.

In addition, liver toxicity leads to weight gain through fluid retention and bloating as the body attempts to buffer or neutralize the negative effects of toxins on the body.

    Kasia SO-BERRY FRESH SOAP NUTS

    organic all-purpose cleaner

    USDA CERTIFIED   •   ORGANIC   •   ALLERGY-FREE

A SAFE ALTERNATIVE TO CHEMICAL CLEANERS

Common laundry detergents contain phosphates, ammonia, phenol, brighteners, artificial fragrances, EDTA and SLS, all which can remain
on your clothes after washing.

This residue can cause skin irritation (rashes, itching, allergic reactions) and sinus problems, as well as long-term toxic effects on the environment.

    Kasia’s Organic ‘Berry-Fresh Soap Nuts’ are . . .

. . . perfect for sensitive skin (such as eczema, psoriasis and allergies) because they are naturally antibacterial, antifungal and antimicrobial. No added chemicals or perfumes are added. . . . more effective than toxic detergents. Your colors remain bright, fabric structure is maintained, odors are eliminated and static cling is reduced. Use on all fabrics — at all temperatures — in top or front loading machines. Tough on odors and stains; soft on delicates. . . . economical. Soap Nuts cost much less than chemical detergents — laundry is cleaned for less than 13 cents per load!  Plus, no fabric softener is needed and they offer an unlimited shelf life. . . . multi-purpose. Use them to clean virtually in your home. . . . ecological. Soap Nuts do not pollute, are safe for septic systems, and are 100% biodegradable and compostable! . . . grown on Sapindus Mukrossi trees found in the Himalayans. (Beware of cheaper, smaller and darker soap nuts available on the internet. They contain lower levels of the active ingredient saponin, and therefore are less effective at cleaning.)

Basic Directions and Recipes ...so FRESH!

    how to use for laundry
